Gerson David

Gerson David is originally from Puerta Lempira, on the far eastern side of Honduras. When he arrived at Amigos in Februrary of 2008, he was only able to speak mesquite – an indigenous language in Honduras. Gerson David was transferred to us from another orphanage called Copprome, which is located in the mountainous region of Honduras farther east than Amigos. According to Gerson David, both of his parents are dead, yet we have no way to confirm this. He is bright and energetic; less than two years ago (when he arrived) he was unable to speak a word of Spanish – now you barely notice that his language is any different from the other boys'. His laugh is boisterous and contagious, and his energy puts anyone around him in a good mood. His birthday is unknown, but we celebrate it on June 1st.
