Humberto was one of the earliest employees of the Amigos de Jesus family, having begun is tenure in 2001. He has worked in many different areas including as a Padrino (child care/houseparent), Carpenter, and now in his current role. Humberto has not only been a mentor and role model for the children, but he has also been a peer to our children. In 2012 he took the big step of enrolling in our alternative middle school alongside students who needed extra support to continue their studies. He finished the 3 year program in 2 years, went on to earn a high school diploma the following year, and is now working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Business on the weekends. Humberto is known for his humble leadership, his skills in so many areas, and for his work ethic. He was born and raised in Azacualpa, a small city not far from Amigos de Jesus.
What do you like about Amigos de Jesus?
I love the vision of Amigos de Jesus: to bring hope, faith and love to children and youth during their most vulnerable times. I also love the climate of the organization and the cultural and personal diversity that is found here.
