Audra Hoffmeister, 2015-2017 volunteer
Graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Spanish
Before coming to Amigos, I was a college student and actively involved in campus ministry as well as other service-based organizations. I love playing guitar, baking, crafting, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Motivation for coming to Amigos
I was blessed to go to Honduras during my sophomore year of college for a service project and I fell in love with the country and its people. Ever since then, the Lord has put on my heart a desire to give myself fully through international service. When I found Amigos, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to answer that call. I feel blessed to be able to return to Honduras, to immerse myself more into this culture and continue to learn Spanish while growing closer to the Lord through serving these children.
I am beyond excited to continue serving at Amigos de Jesús, to continue deepening my relationship with the kids and staff, to give more of myself, and to learn more about God and myself through working with these children. This year, I am serving as the On-Site Volunteer Coordinator. I serve as the liaison between the volunteers and staff, leadership, and school, as well as the other volunteer groups, and assist with volunteer administration, management, and support. Additionally, I help coordinate and serve the visitors that come to Amigos de Jesús and I co-teach the choir class as part of the new after school activities program at the school
