Meet and Amiguito ~ Conrad*
Conrad is a young man who has always had a hunger to learn. He studies on the weekends, helps in multiple areas at Amigos de Jesús in Honduras, and each day grows in maturity and self-confidence. We are so proud of the young man he is becoming.
Birthday: December 17
What are you doing right now? I work in the “tortillería” (tortilla shop) and the mechanic shop during the week. On the weekends I go to school.
What do you want to do when you are done working and studying? I want to go to University to be a physics teacher and a cook.
How do you want to help your country when you finish University? I want to be a teacher, especially for those who can’t read.
What is your favorite place at Amigos and why? The soccer field because we play soccer!
What have you learned at Amigos? How to value what I have, to be humble, to work hard, and to recieve an education in school.
How do you help your brothers and sisters at Amigos? How are you a good example for them? I do not use bad language and I respect the padrinos and madrinas.
How do you help out in the Hogar? Do good things, plant in agriculture, and make tortillas.
Who is someone you admire at Amigos? The padrinos and madrinas because they encourage me to keep studying and to go to university.
What is an old memory you have of Amigos? I met lots of good people...like the volunteers and padrinos. There were also lots of trips, for example, the trip to Intibuca (one of the 18 departments of Honduras).
Do you have a hope for the future of Amigos and for the kids that live here now? That there would be more fun activities like foosbul for all the hogares.
What is something you are proud of? Coming here to the Hogar.
What is your favorite food? Chicken with ‘tajadas’ (fried plantain chips)
What is your favorite color(s)? Purple, black, green, and red
What is your favorite movie? The Jungle Book
Who is your favorite singer(s)? Enrique Iglesias, Reik, and Sebastian Yatra
