On Thursday, August 8, 2019, alumni and friends of Amigos de Jesús mingled at the Manayunk Brewing Company for our first-ever “Pints For Amigos” event.
The group of about 30 enjoyed drinks and food at one of Philadelphia’s premier brew pubs while sharing stories and the mission of Amigos de Jesús.
Director of Development Kelley Kuyat said, “We in the U.S. office wanted to host a casual, summer time event where our staff and volunteer alumni could share the organization’s story and to spread the love for the children in Honduras.”
Folks from many countries were represented at the event, with participants from Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Peru.
Some of the attendees included:
Rachel Sarappo — Volunteer alumni (and mom Celine Severino)
Emily Dias (née Strobel) — former Director of Amigos de Jesús
Kathleen Seipel — part of a group of psychologists who went to Honduras in 2019
Ana Marie & Veronique — from St. Norbert’s Church in Paoli
Deirdre — super-volunteer for Amigos in Hatboro
Joe Mas — representing Berkshire Bank - a major sponsor and supporter of Amigos
Attendees each took home custom pint glasses and information on upcoming events, including the upcoming inaugural event of Amigos Hiking Club on August 17 (on the Wissahickon Trail).
We are all looking forward to Pints For Amigos 2020!
