For 20 years, Amigos de Jesus has served children with a Christian attitude and desire to help the least of God’s children. Although we provide support for over 500 children worldwide, our primary mission is to provide a sanctuary of hope healing and transformation for the 140 children of Amigos de Jesus who live in our home in Honduras. Our 177 acres property consist of many homes for the children, staff and volunteers, a primary school, chapel, and working farm.
We are looking for an experienced Development Director who will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing our new capital campaign as well as our annual giving, major gifts and special events campaigns.
The Development Director will work from our US office located in Hatboro, PA and will work collaboratively with our Executive Director and members of our executive team in all fundraising and development endeavors.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing our new capital campaign
To plan and direct our annual giving campaigns with the goal of enhancing our existing donor base through special events, sponsor a child program and other gift programs.
Build a team of committed employees and volunteers.
Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications with them.
Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and compellingly in person and through written communications by email, social media campaigns, and publications.
Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors.
Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancies.
Direct the annual fund program, including mailings and annual fundraising drives.
Coordinate fund raising special events.
Oversee prospect research.
Work closely with the Executive Director.
Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about the mission with the community.
Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems.
Oversee creation of publications to support fund raising activities.
Maintain and expand our gift recognition programs.
Train and oversee administrative staff or volunteers to support Amigos de Jesus’ fundraising efforts

Creative, Strategic Thinker with a long-term approach to planning and partnership building
Strong Portfolio Manager who expertly handles competing priorities and deadlines
Excellent Communicator with superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Passionate Advocate for vulnerable children
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of work and education
5 years of non -profit experience
At least 2 years of major gift fundraising experience
Proficient computer skills and CRM knowledge
Must be available on occasional nights and weekends to support some of our events
Must be willing to travel abroad on occasion
Spanish fluency is helpful but not a required
Salary commensurate with experience
