Graduated from the Catholic University of America with a degree in Early Childhood Education

Before coming to Amigos:

In May 2017 I graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC with a degree in Early Childhood Education. During my time in DC, I fell in love with ultimate Frisbee, service, and my faith. Shortly after graduation, I jumped on a plane to Honduras, and now here I am at Amigos de Jesús!

Motivation for coming to Amigos de Jesús

I have had a desire to do international service since I was a young girl, but I was not able to seriously consider the idea until after college. However, while researching, I could not find an organization that I felt connected to. I had almost given up my desire to be a missionary, when I decided to search for an organization one last time. It was during this search that I found Amigos de Jesús and very quickly knew this was the organization God had been calling me to. Amigos de Jesús offers me the opportunity to use my teaching degree, grow in love and faith, and even learn a new language! I have very much enjoyed my time here, and cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has to offer!

Duties/Jobs:

I am excited to say that I will be taking in the EducaTodos program as my primary job here at the Amigos school. Right now, we have two different levels of English in this program that include students ages 10-14. I will also be acting as the primary librarian and helping out part-time with social media and communications. Outside of these obligations, I will be having fun playing and doing activities with the kids, as well as helping with cleaning, chores, and whatever else needs to be done!
