Our mission is to be Friends of Jesus and, therefore, to imitate the behavior and attitude of Jesus Christ for the children of Amigos de Jesús. We accept abandoned, abused and impoverished children with the hope of respecting and enhancing their spiritual, physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth within their country of origin. We aspire toward self-sustainability for both the Home and the children who graduate. We believe we are also disciples of these children and will be humbly transformed by the presence of Jesus Christ in the children.

Father Dennis J W O'Donnell, Ph.D., President and Co-Founder

Father Dennis O'Donnell is the President and co-founder of Amigos de Jesús.  He was ordained in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on May 18, 1974 and is currently the Director of Integrated Health Services at Holy Redeemer Hospital.  From 1989 to 2006, Fr. O'Donnell served as the Rector and Spiritual Director at St. Joseph in the Hills, the Malvern Retreat House in Pennsylvania.  Father conducts weekend retreats and days of recollection for many different groups (seniors, married couples, faculty, and students).  He also conducts retreats for religious clergy and parish missions throughout the USA.  Father O'Donnell's love for the 'least of us' has been the driving force behind Amigos de Jesús.  He has been the organization's guiding light and foundation.  Father travels at least four times a year to Honduras where he spends time with the children and enjoys just being with them to see their smiling faces.

Anthony and Christine Granese, Co-Founders

Anthony and Christine have been a part of Amigos de Jesús since the very beginning. The love they have for the children of Honduras has guided this organization and created an atmosphere of faith, and hope. Father O'Donnell first visited Honduras to spend time with Anthony.  Over the course of several trips, God put a calling on hearts of Father O'Donnell, Anthony and Christine and Amigos was born. Anthony and Christine spent three years living and building our home - from a plot of land to a place of love, they truly exemplify the mission of Amigos de Jesús.
